Wow - The year has flown by. We may be in our last few weeks of Reception, but we still have so much to squeeze in! Thanks for your continued support this year...

The children are already getting stuck into their new topic about At the bottom of the garden. This half term we are investigating all things 'minibeast'. We are looking forwards to watching how our tadpoles develop as well as raise our very own sets of class caterpillars.  (See our topic web for more details...)

You can join in at home by hunting for bugs and insects in the garden or local park - don't forget to add some pictures to TAPESTRY... Further growing themed homework challenges are available on our homework challenge sheet... See below...

PE is on a WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON - Children will require a PE kit (Shorts and T-Shirt) for this session. Please help your child feel prepared for this session by practicing dressing and undressing independently at home. This half term we will be working on our cooperation and team work skills by playing parachute games as well as continuing to practice skills for our upcoming sports day...

Now that the weather is warming up, please make sure your child still comes to school in a washable waterproof coat. We go out in all weathers so even if you come in the car and it looks sunny when you set off it's always advisable to have that extra layer of clothing.

When the hot sunny days finally put in an appearance, please make sure your child is SUN SAFE at school. They should bring a sun hat or cap (named) to wear. Your child may also bring some sun cream (clearly labelled with child's name) which we will encourage them to apply during the day. Children should also have a water bottle in school for the week (again clearly named) We will send these home for washing on a Friday evening ready for you to return the following Monday...

Don't forget to label ALL clothing as we cannot take responsibility for lost clothes. We are building up large stashes of lost property so before we donate this on please come and check with your child's teacher if they have lost something recently...

Please keep logging on to Tapestry to see what your child has been doing in school. If you have been logged out or need a new activation code, please speak to your child's teacher. We would also like you to add any homework tasks to here... For more details see our Summer 2 Homework sheet on our web page...

GROW IT! COOK IT! EAT IT!

Our Grow it! Cook it! sessions for parents and children in Nursery and Reception classes will continue every Tuesday from 1-3pm. Wellies and waterproofs are advised but not essential. If you have not yet joined and would like to participate with your child this half term, speak to Miss Harrison or Mrs Stratton.

It has been great to welcome so many parents at  one of our 'Working together Wednesday' sessions last half term. These will continue to run as we move into the final weeks of the Summer term and may have a Maths or English focus depending on which week you come...
