A warm welcome to our new nursery families and welcome back to our existing ones! We look forward to getting to know you over the next few weeks!

We are committed to working in partnership with professionals, parents and the community; using feedback from all to to provide the best possible experiences for our children.

The Acorns Nursery provides young children with the chance to socialise with other children in their peer group. To learn through a stimulating, challenging and play rich environment and develop the skills needed to be ‘school ready’. Our experienced team create a fun, nurturing and safe atmosphere where each child is treated as an individual so that they can thrive and reach their full potential. Our key person practice enables our staff to build strong partnerships with our Parents/Carers, to provide compassion, support, guidance, and home learning opportunities.

We offer pre-school provision to children from 2.5 years old. Our sessions run throughout the school day, five days a week during term time.

Morning sessions run from:

8.30am - 11.30am

Lunch club is available daily from:

11.30am - 12.15pm

Afternoon sessions run from:

12.15pm - 3.15pm

There are some exciting changes afoot in the Nursery and we look forwards to sharing them with you over the coming months.

You will notice that the 2's room and Pre-school rooms have been redeveloped over the Summer holidays. We have also had new soft flooring added to our outdoor area as well as a large sit in sandpit!
Groundwork to redevelop and landscape our outdoor area will continue for the next few weeks so look out for further updates...

This year in the nursery we have decided to incorporate ‘In the Moment’ planning to ensure the children’s learning and interests are at the heart of what we do. Our aim is to support your child in becoming more confident, independent and engaged in their learning. We will plan and teach, treating each child as an individual and allowing them to achieve their best.

What is ‘In the Moment’ planning?

-       A model that allows child initiated learning through play, based on capturing the interests of the children through personalised learning.

-       The staff will take into consideration the children’s interests to create meaningful educational experiences through providing an enabling environment, using quality interactions and ‘teachable moments’.

More details will follow shortly for all parents...

We are fortunate to have a Speech and Language Therapist joining us in the nursery this month. Sahar Nashir will be working with children and families and will be happy to discuss and concerns or queries you have regarding your child's development.
