Fenland Community Arts launch

6th January 2018

Expanding on the work of Cambridge Community Arts, which has successfully provided more than 400 creative opportunities to improve mental health since 2014, Fenland Community Arts launches in January 2018.  We will be offering a programme of short courses, between February and June 2018, across the arts (visual, music & performance) led by experienced and inspiring local artists, in a safe, secure and non-judgemental environment, at community centres in March and Wisbech.  We particularly welcome adults who are at risk of social exclusion, due to experience of mental ill-health or other challenges.  Learners who take our courses report improved artistic skills and also improved mental health, increased confidence and enhanced social networks and friendships.  You can watch a short video here of our learners talking about how getting creative on our courses has helped them.

We will be holding an OPEN DAY on Friday 12th January, potential learners and interested others are invited to come and meet us, our local creative tutors and local co-ordinator, to find out more and to see if getting creative with Fenland Community Arts might be for them!  We will be at March Town Hall, 10.30am – 12.30pm and the Oasis Community Centre, Wisbech, from 2-4pm.

FREE 6 WEEK SHORT COURSES the first of our free* short course will be:

  • The Language of Paint 13th February – 20th March 2018, Tuesdays 1.30-4.30pm
